Stories that have become jewellery - it is this sensual relationship between jewellery and the wearer that is particularly close to Ehinger-Schwarz's heart. She tells the story of each design. In the beginning is the idea, the material, the shape - with every day that a woman chooses this piece of jewellery, she continues its story.
Ehinger Schwarz - as changeable as nature itself for 140 years!

HfG Archive Ulm

The HfG Archive Ulm occupies around 1,200 square metres of floor space. Its collection includes photographs, graphics and written documents, deposits and donations from "alumni" and the estates of Otl Aicher, Tomás Gonda and Walter Zeischegg. Materials that were created at the HfG or are closely associated with it will thus return to their place of origin.

On 30 November 2011, the HfG Archive opened its new premises in the former HfG Ulm with a public ceremony.

The permanent exhibition takes you through the eventful history of the Ulm School of Design, which wrote design history worldwide between 1953 and 1968. A visit to the HfG Archive presents the diverse daily work of this institution.

The HfG Archive aims to document the history of the Ulm School of Design as comprehensively as possible and to make the content and significance of the school accessible to a broad public. To this end, the HfG Archive Ulm offers, in addition to a comprehensive permanent exhibition on the Hochstrasse, temporary exhibitions, publications and symposia.

Opening hours of the exhibition
Tuesday to Friday 11am-5pm
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 11am-5pm
Closed on Mondays

File submission and archive research on Wednesdays 9am-5pm, only by appointment by telephone on +49 (0)731-1614370.

Gerhard Großberger's photographic development began in the early 1970s when he received a compact camera as a gift from his parents. He was immediately infected by this medium for the rest of his life. Today, photography is the artistically and  creatively most important part of his life.

The favoured stylistic devices in his work are staged stories with people in unusual locations and landscapes. The models in his artificial worlds are beings distanced from their surroundings; lost princesses who stand out from the background in different ways. A recurring stylistic element is a pictorial detail or a composition that points to the objective senselessness of an artistic creation. In this way, he sets a counterpoint to the omnipresent pursuit of meaning, utility and responsibility.
